Ugandan partners move forward towards the final phase of GreenVET4U

In recent days, partners from Uganda have come together in a dedicated coordination meeting to shape the final phase of the GreenVET4U project, which is a key moment that reflects both progress achieved and the shared ambition for what lies ahead.

Representatives from Makerere University Business School (MUBS), the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC), Great Lakes Safaris (GLS), and Aspire Education Group gathered to align efforts, exchange perspectives, and define the next strategic steps of the project.

This meeting focused on two essential priorities:

  • Firstly, partners worked collaboratively on the strategy to engage new stakeholders. Strengthening connections with VET providers, industry actors and institutional stakeholders is a central pillar of GreenVET4U, ensuring that the project’s results remain relevant, practical and closely aligned with the needs of Uganda’s green economy. This approach builds on the project’s core objective of fostering cooperation between education and the labour market to design innovative curricula for green jobs.
  • Secondly, discussions addressed the organisation of the project’s final event, planned for the last quarter of the year. This event will serve as a key opportunity to showcase achievements, share lessons learned, and open new pathways for collaboration and sustainability beyond the project’s lifetime.

The meeting provided a valuable space for reflection and collective vision. It reinforced the commitment of all partners to continue working together towards a more sustainable, inclusive and future-oriented VET system in Uganda.

As GreenVET4U enters its final stretch, this renewed momentum highlights the strength of partnership and the shared belief that equipping learners with the right skills for green jobs is not only an educational priority, but a driver for long-term socio-economic and environmental impact.
