Project partners

The project has gathered an alliance of six partner organisations active in the field of VET from Uganda and the EU Member States of Spain, Germany and Italy. They will work together setting up an EU-Uganda Community of Practice, also involving an extensive network of private-public stakeholders.

Instituto para el Fomento del Desarrollo y la Formación (Spain)

Is an innovation centre supporting excellence for the VET ecosystem of Castilla y León region in Spain and an entity of reference in Europe for VET innovation. At regional level, INFODEF provides support to the regional Government of Castilla y León providing innovative solutions and capacity building to the regional network of more than 500 VET centres and 45.000 students and learners. At European level, the entity coordinates and participates in Erasmus+ KA2 projects in VET, focused mostly on green sectors and sustainability, digitalization of VET, support of DUAL VET and work based-learning, social inclusion and equity in VET and entrepreneurship.

National Curriculum Development Centre (Uganda)

Is a National public body corporate mandated to develop curricula and related instructional materials for Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and some Tertiary Institutions. In addition, the Centre is responsible for organising capacity building courses for stakeholders on curriculum and matters related to curriculum. Inter alia other services provided, NCDC provides consultancy for improved curriculum development and implementation. The NCDC Act outlines the core functions which encompass: initiation of new syllabi, drafting teaching schemes; textbooks; designing teaching aids; conducting in-service teacher support; holding conferences on curriculum; collecting and compiling statistical information; publishing bulletins and dissemination of findings on curriculum research and evaluations.

Aspire Education Group GmbH (Germany)

Specialist in education and workforce development and leading entity building business-education partnerships within and between Europe and Africa. They support education and workforce development preparing young people and adults for the 21st century global economy. We work in partnerships with key influencers and organisations in Germany, the UK, Europe, Africa for greater social mobility, inclusion, innovation, education and economic development. In East and West Africa, Aspire has curated expert roundtables and co-authored reports coining the concept “Education for Wealth” presented in the Gambia, Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria and House of Commons UK, to promote partnerships, build human capacity and tech for social and economic development, encourage entrepreneurship and support women’s leadership. They focus is on education and skills for wealth and the future global economy, which is digital, sustainable and green.

Centro Servizi Formazione (Italy)

A prestigious VET provider of reference in Italy with centres in different regions and cities, expert in the provision of apprenticeship and WBL for social inclusion and the support to companies and non-for-profit organization for their participation in VET, with long expertise in sustainable development, digital skills, and capacity building. CSF provides VET training and WBL to more than 2.000 students and learners annually. CSF has been active in initiatives concerning the experimentation at European level of training models in VET field, inclusion of people with special needs and workers/persons at risk of social exclusion, also developing fruitful exchanges of good practice with transnational networks.

Great Lake Safaris Limited (Uganda)

Is an eco-tourism and hospitality reputed company (and Foundation) specialized in tailor-made tours and safaris in Uganda with 22 years of experience. Great Lakes Safaris Foundation (GLSF) was established in April 2021 in celebration of Great Lakes Safaris 20th anniversary and in response to the impact of the global pandemic on Africa’s wilderness areas, local communities, and wildlife. GLSF partners with communities that are located in tourism areas to improve quality of life and achieve long-term conservation through programs focusing on Education, Community Empowerment, and Conservation.

MAKERERE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS SCHOOL (MUBS) – Uganda

A constituent college of Makerere University that offers academic programmes at different levels ranging from the PhD, Masters, to the undergraduate degree and diploma programmes. The institution has several collaborations with both public (Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government) and private bodies to handle different projects in the fields of education and entrepreneurship. MUBS has long-standing experience in Vocational Education and Training, running different programmes at the Faculty of Vocational Studies and Distance Education, that hosts all the Vocation and Distance Education programmes. The Faculty hosts an affiliation of various private TVETs and supports them with trainer capacity building, quality assurance, examination and academic programmes management including periodic reviews to ensure that they provide relevant training and skilling. Additionally, MUBS established the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Incubation.
